Messy Church

Messy Church is a way of being church for families and others. It is Christ-centred, for all ages, and based on creativity, hospitality and celebration.

Introducing Messy Church

Messy Church is a way of being church for families and others, primarily those who do not already belong to another form of church. It is Christ-centred, for all ages, based on creativity, hospitality and celebration. Many churches are developing their Messy Church as a congregation in its own right as a Fresh Expression of Church.

A typical Messy Church session involves a welcome;, a creative exploration of a biblical theme; and a short celebration involving story, prayer, song, games and similar; all culminating in a sit-down meal. First and foremost, it is inclusive of all ages and both adults and children.

If you are interested in finding out more, these downloadable at-home sessions will give you an introduction to the basics. There is also a reflection on discipleship in Messy Church.

On Saturday 25 February 2017 we held our first Messy Cathedral event.
