Pray for our summer term sermon series ‘Mind the Gap: Lessons from Abraham in living in the gap between the promises of God and the ups and downs of life.’ Do pray that the Holy Spirit opens up the Holy Scriptures to show us the beauty of Jesus and His saving grace. 2. Thank God for our community-based courses this term - Christians Against Poverty Lifeskills course for those on low-incomes, and the Kids Matter parenting course for carers/parents. May they be really helpful in nurturing healthy family lives in Mitcham, and pointing people to the Lord who cares. 3. Pray for our growing weekly children’s and youth work - including our weekly groups for local primary and secondary schools, and our forthcoming stall at the annual Mitcham Carnival. In particular, give thanks for our work with St Mark’s Academy; in May we are partnering with London City Mission to host a knife crime violence for year 7 students. 4. Pray for our new group for 18-30s to be really helpful and envisioning to help folk want to live for Christ in their whole lives. 5. Give thanks for our both our lay leaders and our staff team. 🙏#TodayWePray for @stmarysmerton - Vicar Alistair Milne, Judith Bersweden (Associate Priest) & Congregation. I was installed on 6th March and so prayers at the moment for me and the parish in this new phase (particularly for them!). Prayers also for: our choir and for those going off to university this September; our associate priest, Judith, our director of music, Tristan, Michael in the office, and all those who serve and minister in the parish; our local schools, Merton Primary and Rutlish School; upcoming baptisms; and the roof of our Parish Hall which is in need of major repair in the near future and will cost a lot of money. #Pray for the Bishops, priests, deacons & people of the Diocese of Yei – Province of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan
