The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby is visiting our Diocese for a mission weekend from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 October
Our Mission team and the team at Lambeth Palace have worked together to create a programme of visits that focus on prayer, deepening discipleship and growing younger. Archbishop Justin will join us for a range of events in parishes of different contexts and traditions, and share in the rich diversity in our Diocese.

In Woolwich, he will visit the youth group at St James Church, Kidbrooke, and take part in the Sunday morning service at St Peter’s Brockley and the Spanish Mass at St Matthew’s in Elephant and Castle with Bishop Alastair.
Archbishop Justin will then visit the Youth Ministry in Communion gathering at St Mary’s Putney in the Kingston Episcopal Area.
“It promises to be an exciting weekend and I invite you to pray for the Archbishop and all those who will be involved, that people will encounter the light of Christ and respond to our baptismal calling to follow him – and to be Christ centred and outward focused in everything we do.”
The Bishop of Southwark, The Rt Revd Christopher Chessun
