Families Mission Minister | Ascension, Balham SW12

Ascension is a special place to be. We are a thriving Anglican church in South West London, united by a simple mission: spreading the love of God to Balham and beyond.

Every week, hundreds of children and families come through our doors, many with little or no connection to church. From the joy and energy of Sunday mornings and Bubble Church to the conversations taking place over coffee in our Community Hub, we have a remarkable opportunity to help families encounter Jesus. That is what makes this appointment so exciting.

We aren’t simply looking for someone to run excellent children’s programmes, important though those are. We want someone who sees the possibilities in every encounter: a new family walking into Parish Coffee, a parent asking a question about faith, or a child discovering that God loves them.

We long to see families taking steps towards Jesus, parents growing in confidence to nurture faith at home, and children learning to follow him in everyday life. We also want to see people across the church discovering their gifts and playing their part in this ministry.

This role offers the chance to shape something both established and full of possibility, working with a warm, welcoming and deeply committed team and a church community eager to see what God will do next. I hope this pack gives you a sense of the adventure ahead. I would love to hear from you.
