GatenbySanderson job reference: GSe109448

Our new Chief Operating Officer will be key in ensuring our ambitions are achieved together, as a positive and collaborative team, by their wise, inspiring, and consultative leadership. As COO, you will work with the Dean and Chapter to shape and deliver our future activity, bringing an entrepreneurial and transformational mindset to do so. You will be responsible for leading our people, for managing the day-to-day operation of the Cathedral, and for optimising resources and commercial activities, whilst nurturing our unique character and vision.

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a significant track record of leading a complex and diverse operation, and can inspire and develop a multi-disciplinary team. We are genuinely open minded as to your background as we seek a broad set of skills for this unique role. You will be a proven leader, with outstanding relationship building skills across diverse stakeholders. You will be comfortable working in a complex governance environment, understanding the value this brings and able to affect change within it. With demonstrable financial and commercial acumen, you will bring vision, innovation and a sense of entrepreneurship to all the work that you do. Above all, you must be able to demonstrate an empathy with the values, ministry and mission of the Cathedral and have a passion for its contribution to the life of London and surrounding areas.

We want our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion for all to be reflected in the composition of our staff. We are particularly keen to receive applications from candidates from communities currently underrepresented at senior levels in the cathedral.
