Mission Practitioners
Could you be a Mission Practitioner?
Could your parish partner with a Mission Practitioner?
Through our Diocesan Investment Plan, we are launching Mission Practitioners, a new Children and Young People (CYP) focused initiative, as part of our suite of interventions to achieve our Vision of becoming a younger and more diverse Diocese.
We are seeking experienced volunteer or paid leaders of children, youth or family ministry from across the Diocese to come alongside a local church’s existing and new volunteers and be a catalyst for mission to help them grow their children, young people and family (CYPF) ministries. Read FAQs here
They will provide missional guidance and practical support in growing the faith of children and young people, especially at key transition phases in their lives. They will support and advise parishes to build volunteer capacity by modelling CYP ministry in action, enabling volunteers to take the lead and grow in confidence in delivering effective ministry with children, young people and families.
We want to reflect the diversity of the community our churches serve. Therefore, while of course, we welcome all applications from interested and suitably experienced people, we would particularly welcome applicants from Global Majority Heritage (GMH) and other under-represented groups.

Join the Musical provision for CYP network
Do you have musical provision such as a choir, singing group or other musical provision for children and young people? Want to share ideas about how to grow, start or re-start musical provision for children and young people and network with others doing the same as you?
Music can be a fantastic way to engage with children and young people and their faith. In the Diocese, there is a lot of wonderful work going on involving church choirs and other musical opportunities with children and young people. Don’t work in a silo, come together with others who are doing the same thing.Join the Musical provision for CYP network!
Join a listening and responding to CYP group
We are reimagining how we hear the voice of children and young people in 2024. We want to hear what is important to them and concerns them locally, at school and in the world and empower the children and youth to take steps to address these things. If you have a school faith group, a children’s group, a youth group or a choir with children and/or youth in it, we would love to hear from you.
