We’re looking for a new priest to join us in the Parish of St Michael & All Angels.

The parish has a strong relationship with the Academy, a CofE Secondary School, to which the church is attached and of which the Vicar is also half-time chaplain. With the Principal, PCC and wider local churches there is a vision to plant a youth church. We are partnering with Missional Youth Church Network (Church Army UK) to provide additional support.

Salary: £30,455

We are looking for a priest who is committed to coming alongside young people and supporting them in their journey of faith and discovery. And who will:

  • Collaborate effectively with the Principal, other local clergy as well as lay leaders, helping to create a volunteer team to support the work with young people.
  • Inspire and enable others in turning this vision into a reality which is owned by the young people themselves.
  • As chaplain to the Academy combine a care for staff and students with Christian witness and a deep respect for all in this multi faith environment.
  • As Vicar of St Michael’s build up this community of faith and support its outreach into the wider community.
