Salary/Stipend: £19,500 (£27,300 pro rata)

Working Hours: 25 hours per week

A varied administrative role offering the opportunity to be an integral member of a vibrant team focused on Mission Action Planning, Children’s and Youth Ministry, and the work of the Justice, Peace & Integrity of Creation (JPIC) teams in areas of social action, social justice and climate justice.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Canon Missioner, Mission and JPIC teams across a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties.
  • Dealing with correspondence and diary management for the team.
  • Managing meeting logistics including, scheduling, room bookings, preparing agendas, minute taking and circulation, following up on action points.
  • Supporting the administration of events such as conferences and training days, including booking venues, communicating with delegates, arranging catering etc.
  • Setting up and managing content pages in EventBrite, administering payments and communicating with attendees.
  • Collecting and entering data into Diocesan databases and MailChimp, summarising content and producing reports as required.
  • Administering finances for the department, organising payment of expenses, invoices and grants, and ensuring that the department stays within budget.
  • Keep Mission and JPIC web pages up to date.
  • Any other administrative duties that are required by members of the team or as requested by the Director of Mission.
The Ideal Candidate

  • Highly organised and efficient with demonstrable administrative and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to balance competing demands and complete work accurately within required timelines.
  • Confident in the use of technology and in using it to maximise efficiency.
  • Experienced in Outlook Express and Microsoft packages including Word and Excel.
  • Comfortable with a range of apps and software programs including EventBrite, MailChimp, Doodle Poll, Survey Monkey etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with track record of building good working relationships.
  • Sympathetic to the aims and objectives of the Christian Church and willingness to have due regard for the traditions of the Church of England.
