In the wake of the distressing news coming out of Iran, please join us in prayer.
At Christ Church, Gipsy Hill Revd Emma Lowth shared with us that Iranian members of the congregation are feeling the pain of their people intensely and physically, and that the communal grief is palpable. On Sunday at Farsi Fellowship the church will break bread and share wine over the carpet in the image above – it is a map of Iran decorated with Ephesians 2.19 ‘you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of his household’

دعای برای مردم ایران
ای پدر آسمانی،
به نام عیسی مسیح، امروز قلبهای خود را به سوی تو بلند میکنیم.
برای مردم رنجکشیده ایران، برای همه خانوادههای ما و عزیزانمان که در میان ظلم، ترس و بیخبری گرفتار شدهاند، نزد تو فریاد برمیآوریم.
خداوندا، در زمانی که ارتباطها قطع شده،
در زمانی که صداها خاموش و حقیقت پنهان شده،
تو خدای زنده و حاضر هستی.
تو صدای ناله مظلومان را میشنوی.
ای خداوند عدالت،
روح شیطان، دروغ، خشونت و مرگ را در هم بشکن.
دستهای خونریز را متوقف کن
و نور خود را بر تاریکی بتابان.
ای روحالقدس،
اکنون بیش از هر زمان، از تو یاری میطلبیم.
بر مردم ایران نازل شو،
دلهای خسته را قوت ببخش،
ترس را به شجاعت،
و ناامیدی را به امید تبدیل کن.
خداوندا،
جان بیگناهان را حفظ کن،
دلهای داغدار را تسلی بده،
و آزادی حقیقی را که از توست،
بر این سرزمین جاری ساز.
ما ایمان داریم که
نور بر تاریکی غلبه میکند
و حقیقت پیروز خواهد شد.

A Prayer for the People of Iran
Heavenly Father,
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we lift our hearts to You today.
We cry out for the suffering people of Iran, for all our families and loved ones who are trapped in fear, oppression, and silence.
Lord, in this time when all communication has been cut off,
when voices are silenced and truth is hidden,
You remain the living and ever-present God.
You hear the cries of the oppressed.
God of justice,
break the power of Satan, of lies, violence, and death.
Stop the hands of those who shed innocent blood,
and let Your light shine into the darkness.
Holy Spirit,
we urgently call upon You now.
Come upon the people of Iran,
strengthen the weary,
turn fear into courage,
and despair into hope.
Lord, protect innocent lives,
comfort the grieving,
and release true freedom — the freedom that comes from You —
over this land.
We declare in faith
that light overcomes darkness
and that truth will prevail.
We pray all this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ,
