Eternal and Loving God,
the source of all that is in time and eternity,
help us this Advent to understand afresh
your love for all your creation.
As John the Baptist called people to repentance
in preparation for the coming of Christ,
may we seek forgiveness and amendment of our lives
in accordance with your just and loving purposes.
