This year marks the 1700th anniversary (yes, 1700th!) of the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD! From this gathering of the Church from around the then-known world emerged the Nicene Creed – an encapsulation of the Christian faith which many of us still say in our churches every Sunday to this very day. In this talk, the Revd Joshua Rey, Vicar of Roehampton, gives us an overview of the Council of Nicaea: what it was, what came out of it, and why it continues to matter so deeply to our faith today.
