The Bridge

The Bridge newspaper is published 10 times a year on the first working day of each month (with double editions in July and December). During the Coronavirus pandemic The Bridge is being published online only, and you can read it at: southwark.anglican.org/the-bridge.

If you have a story to share or an event to publicise, please e-mail bridge@southwark.anglican.org.

Please note that copy may be edited for reasons of space or clarity – stories are usually a maximum of 350 words. It would also be helpful if you could include an image to illustrate your piece (images of children or vulnerable adults must be cleared for publication with parents or carers).

Southwark Digest

The Southwark Digest is a fortnightly email newsletter aimed at clergy, lay ministers and church officers in the Diocese of Southwark.

It’s designed to keep you up to date with key events, news and resources to make your role easier and keep you in the loop on what’s happening in the diocese and beyond.

Social media including our daily prayer calendar

We run a number of Diocesan social media accounts including X (Twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube. We are currently testing TikTok, Instagram and BlueSky.

We share a daily prayer on Facebook and Twitter that is personal to our churchs, schools, communities and people. Ahead of each prayer we ask those that we are praying about for a photograph and a personal prayer request. You can download the most up to date prayer calendar here.

The Diocese in Pictures

The Communications Team keeps a photographic record of major events in our shared Diocesan life, which is available to all parishes on Flickr at flickr.com/photos/southwarkcofe.

Our website

We endeavour to keep the website up to date. If you spot something that needs updating, or you experience difficulties in accessing information, please e-mail communications@southwark.anglican.org and one of the team will follow it up.

Working with the press

The Communications Team also manages the public face of the Diocese. In its press work, the team aims to keep the local and national media informed of good news stories in and around the Diocese, and helps to manage the not-so-good news at both Diocesan and parish level.

If you would like assistance in reaching out to the press with a good news story or you would like advice on how to respond to a press request, please e-mail communications@southwark.anglican.org or telephone one of the team.

If you need help in managing more difficult news or would like to discuss a confidential communications matter, please e-mail the Communications Director at anna.drew@southwark.anglican.org.
