Together Southwark’s Lunchbox Library programme has built partnerships with Councils across the Diocese to support more disadvantaged children through the Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF), funded by the Department for Education and known through different names in some boroughs.

The past two years have been both challenging and incredibly rewarding for all those involved in the partnership programme. We have received fantastic feedback.

As announced in the budget in late October, the Department for Education’s HAF programme will be funded further for the 3 longer school holidays from 2022 to 2024.

Although teams at Councils are currently monitoring and evaluating the winter programme, due to various processes that can take some time, we have already began working on the Easter holiday programme. We would encourage to submit your application to join this fantastic programme. For those interested in joining the holiday programme (either as a new or continuing hub), so far we have dates for the boroughs below:

Lunchbox Library – Southwark’s Easter of Food and Fun

Applications open on Thursday 13 January and close on Wednesday 19 January in the evening.

As with previous application periods, an email will be sent round in the morning on the 13th with a link to the application form on Google Forms and guidance documentation. Unfortunately, due to tight deadlines that the holiday programme team have, they would not be able to accept any late applications. Please ensure you complete the short application form in one sitting before the deadline written in the email that will be sent in the coming days.

If any new potential partners are interested in joining the programme, please email either Nelly Misenga (Together Southwark) or Vicki Exall (LB Southwark)  if you have any questions.

Lunchbox Library – Croydon’s HAF Programme

Applications for the Easter period are open. The closing date for applications will be  Friday 4 February. For application forms and guidance documents, please contact  HAF LB Croydon or Nelly Misenga  (Together Southwark)

Clubs are expected to run for 4 hours a day for 4 days over the holiday (be that first or second week) so please make your plans accordingly.

The Council will be conducting 2 sessions on portal and procurement processes on 25 January at 12 noon and on 2 February at 11 am. Both sessions will be the same, do don’t worry if you can’t make one of them.
