“St Michael’s is a church for the young people. Our heart, vision and body is that they know Jesus.”

Revd Ifeanyi Chukuka

“The children are not just the future of the  church – they are the church today.”

Deacon David Howland, Chaplain at St Michael’s School

In our first parish video for this year’s PSF campaign, we visited Revd Ifeanyi Chukuka and Deacon David Howland, Chaplain at St Michael’s School, to see how the church and school are working closely to teach the children about Christianity and Jesus. The children and some of their parents came together to learn about Pentecost from Deacon David before taking part in worship and the Eucharist.

During our visit, Revd Ifeanyi talked with us about the Parish Support Fund. Like a lot of churches, St Michael and All Angels has seen its funding and income decrease since the pandemic, though the future picture for the church looks positive. He says St Michael’s continues to encourage giving, and is still a giving church because they know the church at large needs their support.

“The Parish Support Fund helps to send the good news of Jesus in those churches and communities where people cannot afford and any church that could afford to give, should be encouraged to give and help share the love and kindness of Jesus to the world.”

We will be sharing new parish stories as part of this year’s PSF campaign each week on our website and social media.
