St John’s responded to the murder of George Floyd and the rise of Black Lives Matter with two “Black Voices Matter” panel discussions, facilitated by Curate Raymond Baudon, and by developing our own “Unconscious Bias/Allyship” course. “Black Voices Matter” continues to meet; Tayo Olatunde writes:

“In a year that has had not one, but two monumental impacts on the world (Covid & the killing of George Floyd), the Black Voices Matter initiative at St John has provided an environment for honest, uncomfortable discussions on where we are and where we want to be as individuals and as a church.”
