This is an exciting opportunity to join our new leadership team at the start of a new season for the life of the church. Our vision at St Mark’s is to be ‘Serving Christ’s mission in Mitcham.’ This involves:

 • listening to our Father God in the Scriptures
 • caring for one another in the power of the Spirit
 • sharing the love of Jesus in word and deed with the people of Mitcham, and so
 • growing in number and in maturity, as an all-age, inter-cultural joyful community.

The Curate and members of Holy Trinity Clapham have been invited by the PCC at St Mark’s and the Diocese of Southwark, to join the church family from September 2024 – as we seek to grow in the life of faith and in reaching out with Christ’s love beyond the walls of the church building (see background and vision video here:
www.mitcham.church.)

In the months and years ahead, we seek to grow children’s, youth and families ministries, serve the community with new social action projects, and proclaim the saving love of Christ to the world on our doorstep, attracting them to the life of the church. Mitcham is a place of diversity and energy, colour and cultures, beauty and brokenness, with plenty of opportunities to minister to the social and spiritual needs of the community.

Over the next 5 years we hope, pray and plan to adapt our ministry and mission to grow – and the Children’s & Families’ Minister will play a key strategic and pastoral role in leading and facilitating this growth. We are full of expectation with all that may lie ahead, and we hope that this new staff role will provide an opportunity for someone who wants to share Jesus with others, grow in their own daily walk with Jesus and growth in Christlike character, to join with us and develop a team in serving God’s mission in Mitcham.

If you would like an informal discussion about the role, then we would be delighted to hear from you at [email protected].  To apply please click on the ‘Apply Now’ button.

The closing date may be brought forward and so please do apply at the earliest opportunity.
