Junior Church Leader | Christ Church West Wimbledon

BACKGROUND

Our mission is to be known as a welcoming church where worship is joyful – to be a space where everyone is supported in their journey of faith and where faith can be deepened with friends. Because we are serious about growing the work we do with our children and young people, we are committed to restarting and sustaining Junior Church.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR…

An enthusiastic, motivating and reliable children’s leader to support the delivery of Junior Church during Sunday services in term time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and deliver Junior Church sessions for children using Roots resource, which we’ll provide.
Support a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children aged 4-11.
Set up and pack away materials before and after sessions.
Work collaboratively with our Vicar and volunteers.

HOURS & PAY

Three Sundays per month during term time – approximately 3 hours each week.
Includes preparation, set-up, delivery and tidy-up time.
Competitive hourly rate, based on experience.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE…

Enjoys working with children and young people.
Is proactive, encouraging, organised and dependable.
Experience in youth or children’s work is desirable but not essential.
Shares and supports the values of Christ Church, West Wimbledon.

SAFEGUARDING

An enhanced DBS check is required (to be completed before starting the role).
