The Energy Footprint Tool (EFT) helps churches take a simple but meaningful step in caring for people and the planet by measuring their energy use. Completing the tool can:

  • Make your church more eligible for carbon-reducing grant funding.
  • Provide insight into where energy is being used and highlight opportunities to reduce energy costs.
  • Support the Church of England’s wider commitment to lowering emissions and caring for God’s creation.

To support churches in completing the EFT, we will be hosting lunchtime and evening training sessions on Zoom, in collaboration with the Diocese of London, on the following dates:

Training Dates

  • Tuesday 10th March
  • Tuesday 5th May

Session Times

  • 12:30 – 13:30 (lunchtime session)
  • 18:30 – 19:30 (evening session)

What the Training Covers

The training will provide a short background on the Energy Footprint Tool, and will include a step-by-step walkthrough of how to complete it using your church’s energy bills from 2025. There will also be a time for questions at the end.

You only need to attend one session – simply choose the date and time that suits you best.

Who Should Attend?

This training is ideal for anyone involved in completing the Energy Footprint Tool in your church who would appreciate guidance in filling it in. This may include:

  • Treasurers
  • Churchwardens
  • Administrators
  • PCC members
  • Clergy
  • Anyone else supporting your church’s energy reporting

All are warmly invited to join us.
