Going Deeper in Liturgy: an invitation
What does it feel like to worship in your church for the first time? Going Deeper in Liturgy is a new peer-to-peer initiative from the Bishop’s Advisory Group for Liturgy that aims to help parishes to receive fresh insight and reflect on the worship they offer for their communities, week by week.
Parishes are invited to welcome small teams of visitors to their main act of worship. This team will be there to see what it feels like to join in with the main Sunday service, to reflect on how this worship looks to someone who is unfamiliar with it and gather examples of good practice for wider sharing.
An email to parishes inviting them to express interest in hosting a Going Deeper in Liturgy Team will be sent in due course – in the meantime, we’re looking for people to join the visiting teams.
Join the Going Deeper in Liturgy visiting teams
As well as helping parishes reflect on their welcome and worship, being a part of the visiting teams is an opportunity to experience a range of worship styles, liturgy and church tradition. We’re looking for lay and ordained volunteers who are willing to spare two to three Sundays per year. Support and guidance will be provided.
