Mission & Evangelism
'He said to them: "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation".'
The role of the Mission and Evangelism team is to help both individuals and churches to engage with their communities, living out God's call in the wider world with a particular emphasis on the Five Marks of Mission:
- To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom;
- To teach, baptise and nurture new believers;
- To respond to human need by loving service;
- To transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and to pursue peace and reconciliation;
- To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and to sustain and renew the life of the earth.
In these pages you will find advice and resources on Fresh Expressions of Church, Mission Action Planning, evangelism, prayer, and children and youth ministry, all aimed at growing the Kingdom and engaging with the Bishop's strategic goals for growth as laid out in Strategy for Ministry, namely increasing weekly attendance by 5 per cent by 2025 and expanding the number of worshipping communities in our Diocese.
