Creation care – what’s it all about?

Many of us know that it’s important to care for God’s world and want to make changes to become more environmentally friendly in our churches. Yet often we don’t know where to start, or feel we lack the time or knowledge.

If this sounds familiar, this foundation level training session is for you! Together we’ll explore simple ways we can integrate creation care into our daily church life and steward God’s world more faithfully – without seeing it as an overwhelming ‘extra’ task.

We’ll begin by considering what it means to live out our faith in the context of the climate and nature crisis, looking at how the Bible calls us to care for creation and how we can respond as followers of Christ. We’ll introduce key topics like climate justice, Eco Church, caring for church gardens and nature, lowering your church’s energy use and ‘greening’ your finances – exploring practical ways to take both small and big steps to make a difference in our churches.

Who is this training for?

This online 90 minute session is designed for anyone seeking foundation level training – whether you want to explore where to begin in your church, hope to reignite an Eco Church journey that has stalled, or simply wish to deepen your understanding. It’s a chance to cover key topics and consider ways to take practical, hopeful action.

You can join as an individual or as a team, and it’s suitable for anyone lay or ordained to come and learn more.
