The Patrons – the Vicar of St Mary Magdalen’s Bermondsey, the Bishop of Southwark and CPAS – are seeking a Vicar for the Parish of Bermondsey, St James & St Anne (United Benefice).
The friendly diverse congregations of both churches reflect a wide social and ethnic mix, welcoming people of all ages. They enjoy relaxed informal Sunday worship in the evangelical tradition and serving their communities through a range of activities.
The parish is looking for a vicar whose relationship with Jesus nourishes their leadership, teaching, and pastoral care for the congregations as they serve them:
- Encouraging spiritual growth as committed disciples
- Increasing involvement in every member ministry
- Building on the excellent relationship with St James CofE Primary School
- Engaging with other organisations within the community
- Enabling more work with young families and reaching out to teenagers
- Developing mission through prayer, effective communication and coming to know the people of the parish.

We welcome applications from priests who have completed a stipendiary curacy (or equivalent) in the Church of England or another of the Anglican Churches of the United Kingdom with the right to work in the UK.
The Diocese is particularly keen to encourage women and those of UKME heritages to apply for incumbency and other more senior roles.
