This is an exciting and challenging role. We are looking for someone who feels called to work with young people in inner city London who is motivated and experienced. The youth project operates from a variety of venues including schools and streets in the local area when doing detached youth work.

The Outbreak youth project comes under the umbrella of The Pimlico Foundation (“TPF”) which is a charity, that has been established to reach out to the young people aged 10-19 living in Pimlico. The core aim of the Senior Youth Worker role is to support and help young people in various aspects of their life, from after school homework classes, to extracurricular activities, assisting them in setting positive goals for the future.

Our vision is to share the love of Jesus Christ with the Children and Young People of Pimlico to bring them into a living relationship with Him.

The Senior Youth Worker will be working and living incarnationally in Pimlico. The post holder will be committed to worshipping at a church in the Pimlico area, where the young people they work with are living. The post holder must be capable of motivating and managing volunteers and other youth workers.

Pimlico is an area of two halves. Despite its exclusive postcode and reputation for wealth it is an area with a rich socio-economic mix, where the wealthy live side by side with those who are struggling to make ends meet. The focus of the work will be in the local estates. It is within this context that many are groomed for drugs and gangs often from primary school age. There is a serious need for work to be done in providing positive alternatives where young people will flourish.

Closing date for applications is 4pm on Thursday 2nd December 2021

Interviews will take place via zoom on the 6th December 2021, you may then be invited to lunch and shown around Pimlico and the youth project on the 8th of December. Please make a note of both dates.

Appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure and it is a genuine occupational requirement for applicants to be Christians.
