St Margaret’s is an open and inclusive Anglican church grounded in the broad (liberal-central) tradition and seeking to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation. We seek to be:

  • Faithful to God as revealed in Jesus Christ
  • Open to the call of God and to new ideas and perspectives.
  • Inclusive: rejoicing in the variety of all those made in God’s image.
  • Welcoming of our whole parish and all our neighbours.

We are seeking a Rector who will:

  • Embody our values of inclusivity and openness, offering warmth and welcome.
  • Combine thoughtful exploration of the Christian faith with pastoral care skills.
  • Enable progress on our missional priorities: connectivity, creation and young people.
  • Support with energy and enthusiasm our many growing outreach ministries.
  • Sustain our choral and liturgical traditions and bring fresh insights and ideas.
  • Line manage staff; lead projects for our buildings; and contribute as a Governor of our excellent parish school (SIAMS, 2020) and Trustee for our small charities.

Our new Rector will find:

  • Talented, enthusiastic staff and volunteers.
  • A supportive and committed PCC and wider community.
  • Rich traditions of liturgy, music and worship.
  • A Grade 2* listed church building and modern 4-bedroom rectory.
  • A diverse parish with opportunities for growth and development of our ministries.
