Priest in Charge (Rector Designate), Parish of Sanderstead, All Saints’ and St Antony’s

We are seeking a Priest in Charge (Rector Designate) to lead our mission, ‘Growing in Christ, working together with the community and sharing God’s love’. Our suburban parish offers a warm, loving, caring, prayerful, supportive and accommodating congregation that participates actively in the ministry of the church. We are located on the edge of the North Downs, which borders the London Borough of Croydon and the County of Surrey.

We are looking for a confident, spirit-filled, prayerful leader who will work collaboratively with the wardens, PCC, lay and ordained ministry teams and the congregation to develop the vision for the church to enable the children and families work to be a priority to grow the church in numbers and spiritual maturity.

In addition, the new person will care and tend for the existing aging congregation many of whom have faithfully served the church for many years.

The person we are looking for should have:

· a pastoral heart, empathy and strong listening and communication skills,

· the energy and ability to engage and encourage people across the age ranges and to convey the church’s mission, vision and priorities,

· a commitment to preach the God’s Word in thoughtful and stimulating ways,

· the ability, willingness and experience to help us to further develop our less formal / modern worship services, including a wider range of musical worship and a deeper corporate prayer life – whilst valuing our heritage.
