Role Description: Parish Administrator
Location: Parish Office, 90 Brixton Road, London SW9 6BJ
Start Date: September 2022
Contract Length: Six-month fixed term, with option to extend
Hours: An average of 21 per week, as agreed with the Parish Priest
Remuneration: £11 per hour
Holiday: Ten days, excluding bank holidays
Line Manager: Fr Hugo Adán, Parish Priest
Key Duties
Regular
● Printing the weekly bulletins
● Liaising with the administrator of our partner parish, St Matthew’s
● Managing Church hirings
● Communicating with Café van Gogh, including bills and maintenance
● Communicating with contractors, such as the cleaners
● Billing the regular business tenants on the premises
● Supporting the running of the Charity Shop
● Ordering supplies the Food Cupboard, liaising with other churches
● Assisting the clergy in the day-to-day running of the parish
● Bookkeeping, including inputting of financial data onto the system
Occasional
● Dealing with enquiries for Banns of Marriage, Baptisms and Funerals
● Booking organists when necessary
Person Specification
Essential
● Fluent written and spoken English
● Well organised
● Good IT skills
● Confident on the telephone
● Willingness to work in a team
Desirable
● Previous work in administration
● Some knowledge of Spanish
● Sympathetic to the Christian ethos of the Parish
