Introduction

We are looking for someone who shares this commitment and is passionate about community, creating opportunities and resources.We are seeking a motivated fundraiser to focus upon income generation and partnership building who would enjoy collaborating with our diverse churches and their volunteers, to help build sustainable funding for missional and community parish projects across Southwark Diocese.

We are looking for someone who
  • is excited by God’s love and generosity and the chance to help our churches sustain current community projects and fund new opportunities to transform lives and communities
  • has the enthusiasm and skills to help parishes maximise the use of their assets and develop new and creative, well-planned and commercially viable income streams that echo their values and vision
  • enjoys providing practical assistance and advice to supporting parishes on such matters as Gift Aid
This post is a new full-time role. We are looking for a minimum of 28 hours and are happy to offer a flexible working pattern.
  

This role includes:

 

  • Encouraging Generous Giving: Inspire a culture of generosity and sustainable fundraising across the Diocese, working with parishes to grow income through strategies such as the Parish Giving Scheme, online giving, and legacy fundraising.
  • Support Financial Sustainability: Help parishes maximize the use of their assets, develop income generation plans, and implement strategies for sustainable funding, including hall hire, business activities, and other revenue streams.
  • Provide Practical Assistance: Offer guidance on Gift Aid and the Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme (GASDS), serving as a primary point of contact for related queries and supporting parishes in maximizing their claims.
  • Deliver Training and Resources: Prepare and deliver training for treasurers, clergy, and parish volunteers. Share best practices and fundraising opportunities through articles, blogs, case studies, and workshops.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with diocesan colleagues, clergy, and lay leaders to develop funding strategies and build partnerships, ensuring alignment with parish and diocesan values.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Progress: Gather and analyse data on fundraising and income generation, using insights to inform strategies and support parishes in achieving their financial goals.
  • Communicate and Promote: Regularly update parishes on income opportunities, funding news, and success stories through various communication channels, including social media and newsletters.
  • Attend Team and Professional Development Meetings: Participate in Giving Team and National Giving Team meetings and engage in professional development opportunities related to the role.
About you
We are looking for a Christian seeking a full-time role, but we would be willing to consider a job-share or someone seeking to work for 4 days per week. This role may suit someone looking for a new challenge in the charity sector or expand their grants experience to help our parishes secure vital funding for a wide range of community impact projects. Salary/Stipend:FTE salary of up to £42,000 per annum, depending on experience
Working Hours:A flexible role – part or full–time. Must commit to a minimum of 28 hours per week.
