This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with demonstrable research experience to play a key role in fulfilling of our Diocesan strategy, Southwark Vision 2024-2035, Christ Centred Outward Focused.

Part of that Vision and our Anti-Racism Charter is to make sure that we reflect the great diversity of our communities in those who are our Lay and Ordained ministers. We want to look across all strands of diversity, but with an emphasis on race and socio-economics, to identify any obstacles people have faced in our vocations processes and understand why people leave those processes.

The Encouraging Vocations Research Officer will conduct quantitative and qualitative research and analysis resulting in a report to inform potential changes in local and national discernment processes. Here is more information about the Diocesan Investment Programme, from which the post is funded.

You should have:
-Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work, with strong organisational and time-management skills.
-Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
-A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with a willingness to learn new methodologies or techniques.
-Demonstrated commitment to ethical research practices and maintaining confidentiality.
-Proficient in data analysis, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and produce clear findings.

A good understanding of the structure, breadth and dynamics of the Church of England will be important, along with the desire to serve our churches and support a fruitful future.
