St Luke’s Community Downham (SE London)

St Luke’s Downham is looking for a Community and Advice Coordinator to be part of the team responsible on a day-to-day basis for developing the Front Room at St Luke’s and Welcome Club at St Mark’s as community hubs.

The main focus of this role will be empowering members of both Front Room and Welcome Club to solve the issues in their lives, working with them not doing things for them. This will involve promoting the projects, welcoming new members, facilitating member meetings and fundraising, and inviting in partner organisations, as well as involvement in establishing and delivering our advice service.

St Luke’s Community aims is to promote the mental, physical, social and economic wellbeing of people and families from the Downham Estate. We do this by providing group sessions, events and one-to-one support; giving people a safe place where they will feel empowered to help themselves. St Luke’s Community is based on the Christian values of compassion, hospitality, love for our neighbour, and everyone has a valuable part to play.
