Children’s and Families Worker | Earlsfield, Southfields

This is a unique opportunity to initiate new ministries, connect with families, and help build a thriving Christian presence in our community. St Michael’s Church is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Community and Family Worker to join our team, based at St John the Divine in Earlsfield. You will play a key role in pioneering and growing ministries in a vibrant community, engaging with local families, and strengthening the church’s outreach. Whether it’s running toddler groups, leading Messy Church, or building connections with schools, your work will help share the gospel in creative and meaningful ways.

Salary/Stipend: £25,600 pro rata (32,000 FTE)

Working Hours: 28 hours per week, including evenings and weekend where necessary

Fixed term, part time until 30 June 2028

Location: Earlsfield, Southfields

Key Responsibilities

• Community Outreach: Launch and lead a toddler group, Messy Church, and other initiatives to support and bless families.
• Church Ministry: Help shape Sunday services (especially All Age worship), run Puppet Church, and develop children’s groups.
• School Engagement: Build relationships with local schools, deliver assemblies, RE lessons, and Christian lunch clubs.
• Leadership: Recruit and inspire volunteers, identify new ministry opportunities, and grow the church’s presence in Earlsfield.

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

• Has a heart for children’s and family ministry, with a desire to share faith in engaging ways.
• Is creative, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Has experience in community outreach, children’s work, or church ministry (training can be provided for the right candidate).
• Is excited about pioneering new initiatives and investing in long-term growth.
