Walking into the heart of creation
Everyone is welcome to join Bishop Martin and the Chaldon Pilgrims for a pilgrimage through the Diocese of Southwark.
We are walking during Green Week, from Sunday 8 June to Friday 13 June, with a focus on how we sustain hopeful action on climate and nature at a local level. We will be sharing stories with people in the parishes we walk through and there will be an evening outreach event at the churches we are stopping in overnight involving story, song and conversation with local groups and individuals engaged in action on green issues.
This is a 6 day walk through 60 parishes in Surrey and South London. The route is easily accessible at many points by public transport, making this an environmentally sensitive pilgrimage. You can join us for the whole week, or sign up for a day, morning or afternoon section of the route. Anyone can come to the evening events, whether or not you are a walker: everyone is welcome. You can even stay overnight in our host parish churches.
We are making this pilgrimage to connect with others on the eco-journey, to be inspired, challenged and changed as we walk together, to find God in surprising places in our rural, suburban and urban landscapes. We look forward to welcoming you as we walk together into the heart of creation.
