We provide a range of courses for people involved in lay or ordained ministries throughout the Diocese. You can read about these by clicking on the image to open a pdf version of the brochure. Alternatively if you would like a paper copy to browse, contact Zoe Skilton with your address and one will be sent to you.
Some courses are open to all and some are by invitation only. You are welcome to enquire about these courses, and may be invited to attend if you are at the appropriate point in your ministry.
Transforming Conversations: aimed at anyone in a supervision role, this four-day course, offered in partnership with 3d Coaching, helps to develop the skills which lead to one-to-one conversations that, at their best, are both supportive and challenging.
Coaching Group: a regular opportunity for those who have experienced Transforming Conversations, or undergone other coaching training, to receive additional training and supervision.
New Incumbents’ Course: an introduction to the nuts and bolts of incumbency including chairing the PCC, marriage regulations, managing staff and volunteers, developing mission, discipleship and nurturing vocation, resources and support structures.
Southwark Leadership Programme: a five-day course for new leaders within a biblical framework, looking at the call to leadership, understanding your leadership style, working with others, creating vision, developing alignment, ensuring that tasks are completed, and managing yourself and your time.
Action Learning for Mission and Ministry: facilitated groups drawing together participants from a variety of contexts around shared areas of interest in ministerial development, adaptive leadership and collaborative working. These groups work together to address the challenges and opportunities identified through ministerial development reviews, Mission Action Plans and study.
