Result of election for two casual vacancies in the House of Laity of General Synod

The election count for the two casual vacancies from the Diocese of Southwark was held on the afternoon of 9 September 2019.  The successful candidates were:

Theophilia (Theo) Shaw
Rebecca Chapman 

Both Rebecca and Theo will now join their colleagues on General Synod for the remainder of the life of this synod in the February and July Groups of Sessions.  Following this will be a ‘general election’ in every diocese of the Church of England for a new General Synod covering 2020-2025.    

Nomination and Election papers for two members of the House of Laity of General Synod

There are currently two casual vacancies in the House of Laity of General Synod from the Diocese of Southwark.  An election is now in process and the following candidates are standing in this election.  Election addresses from candidates who have asked for these to be distributed to electors are available to download below.  Results will be published after 9 September 2019.
