In February 2012 it was announced that the Venerable Michael Ipgrave, Archdeacon of Southwark, was to be the new Bishop of Woolwich.
The Revd Canon Dianna Gwilliams, Vicar of St Barnabas, Dulwich will be Acting Archdeacon of Southwark until a permanent appointment is made.
The Bishop responsible for Extended Episcopal Care
When Bishop John Broadhurst announced his resignation as Bishop of Fulham, the Bishop of London announced his intention to appoint a new one but said that until that time the Rt Revd Peter Wheatley, the Bishop of Edmonton, would have pastoral care for those parishes in London Diocese.
Following consultation with the Bishops of London and Edmonton, Bishop Peter has agreed to undertake the pastoral care of those parishes who have requested Extended Episcopal Care in the Diocese of Southwark as well.
