Sunday Services

All our Sunday services at Emmanuel express these core values:
we seek to be welcoming, growing, worshipful,
multi-generational and Anglican.

Our 9.15am service expresses these values by being informal, energetic, loud, fast-paced, and free.

Our 11am service expresses these values by being structured, reflective, peaceful, familiar, and spacious.

In both services, after all age worship and prayers, the children and younger youth go to their own teaching groups.
There is a crèche for babies and toddlers. Both services include regular celebrations of Holy Communion.

6:30 pm An informal, evening service of contemporary worship, relevant biblical preaching and prayer ministry in order to help people engage with God.

8.30pm Evening Prayer (2nd/4th Sunday of the month). A time for stillness and reflection. There will be a short service (30 mins) for prayer, reading, silence and meditation, drawing on the traditions of Taize, Iona, and other similar Christian communities.

Other Services

Monday Service
Messy Church is for 3 to 8 year olds and their parents, grandparents and carers. It meets on the second Monday of every month, 3.30 -5.30pm, in church. It includes a short, family friendly service, followed by games, activities and crafts in the church hall, finishing with a hot meal for all the children. Messy Church is fun, informal, noisy and very popular! Younger and older siblings are also very welcome.

Messy Church Extra takes place on the fourth Monday of the month from 3.30 – 4.30pm and includes refreshments followed by a short, family friendly service.

Further details of all Sunday and weekday services and activities may be obtained from the parish contacts

The church consists of the traditional nave, aisles, chancel and west narthex. There is a clergy vestry to the north of the chancel. The choir vestry and entrance porch to the south of the chancel built in 1956 were demolished in 2000 to make way for a new extension. The millennium extension built to the south of the chancel, consists of the Watney Room, Church Offices, Foyer / Coffee Bar, Toilets, Disabled Toilet and Youth Basement Room. The church halls are in a separate complex to the west of the church.
