News and events to help you think about vocation

There are a number of events that run throughout the year aimed and encouraging and supporting people to explore their vocation.

Vocations Fairs

Vocations Fair, 25th February, 2:30-5pm  at St Mary Magdalene’s Croydon, CR0 6QD

An opportunity to explore, talk to others and find out more about your vocation. There  will a keynote address by Bishop Jonathan, a seminar on discerning you call, and stalls to browse.

These events will provide an opportunity for you to explore your own vocation, to think about what it means to be called by God, and to receive information about the wide variety of vocations offered within the Church. There will be opportunity to talk to others exercising a wide variety of ministries and to find out more about specific ministries. There will be a keynote address exploring the theme of vocation and calling, and seminars engaging with particular aspects of ministry.

Vocations Conferences

We run a number of different residential conferences to help people think about their vocation, and these are free of charge for participants.

All one in Christ Jesus: BAME Vocations Conference , 17th March 6pm – 19th March 3:30pm at Wychcroft 

How can the Church better live out its calling to be ‘one in Christ’ (Gal 3.28)?

A residential conference particularly focused on encouraging Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Vocations to ordained ministry.
An opportunity to explore and reflect on your calling in a friendly and inspiring environment.
Fully funded by the Diocese and so free to all Participants
All participants will need the support of their incumbent or chaplain.
Places limited. Register early to avoid disappointment.

Here am I: Vocations Conference for  Women 8th April 10am -4pm, at Southwark Cathedral

What does it mean to fulfil our calling and be a ‘servant of the Lord’ (Luke 1.38)?

A day conference at Southwark Cathedral for women who would like to explore and find out more about ordained ministry.
An opportunity to explore and reflect on your calling in a friendly and inspiring environment.
Key note address by The Rt Revd Sarah Mullally, Bishop of Crediton.
Plus a selection of seminars  and workshops, with plenty of  time for questions and reflection
Fully funded by the Diocese and so free to all Participants

Vocations Quiet Days

Open our hearts: Vocations Quiet Day 17th March 10am-3:30pm, at Wychcroft.

How can we like Lydia allow the Spirit to open our hearts (Acts 16.14)  to respond to God’s call on our life?

Offers a mixture of short talks, led reflections, creative space and plenty of space for silent prayer and reflection, giving participants the opportunity to explore their own journey of faith, and reflect on the way in which God is calling them. This day costs £10.
