We provide a number of open and closed programmes for those engaged in different kinds of ministry, lay or ordained, in the diocese.
The majority are described in the Ministry Matters Programme (PDF - 3.3mb) which is published each summer.
The majority of courses can be booked through the Department of Discipleship and Ministry, but courses focussed on Children and Young People, and Safeguarding courses, must be booked through Eventbrite. Details are given on the relevant pages.

Courses, groups and series events.
Participants on these events are usually invited at the appropriate point in their ministry, but enquiries are always welcome.
Transforming Conversations; aimed at anyone in a supervision role, this four day course offered in partnership with 3d Coaching, helps to develop the skills which lead to one to one conversations that, at their best, are both supportive and challenging.
Coaching Group: a regular opportunity for those who have experienced Transforming Conversations, or undergone other coaching training, to receive additional training and to receive supervision.
New Incumbents Course: an introduction to the nuts and bolts of incumbency including chairing the PCC, marriage regulations, managing staff and volunteers, developing mission, discipleship and nurturing vocation, resources and support structures.
Southwark Leadership Programme: a five day course for new leaders within a biblical framework, looking at the call to leadership, understanding your leadership style, working with others, creating vision, developing alignment, ensuring tasks are completed, managing yourself and your time.
Action Learning for Mission and Ministry: facilitated groups drawing together participants from a variety of contexts around shared areas of interest in ministerial development, adaptive leadership and collaborative working. These groups work together to address the challenges and opportunities identified through in ministerial development reviews, mission action plans and study.
