Lead Chaplain, South West London & St George's Hospital
Head of Pastoral Care Services Band 7 (0.6 fte)
South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Lead Chaplain for the Department of Pastoral Care Services.
This is an established post with scope for innovation and development. We are seeking applications from persons who are either ordained ministers or who have sound theological and pastoral formation in their faith community, to lead our inter-faith chaplaincy team. This is a part time position, working three days a week.
We are hoping for someone who sees spirituality in its widest sense and who will be committed to the recovery model in working with individuals with serious mental health issues and supporting staff. The role is very varied, and involves working with patients, carers and staff in creative and flexible ways, in groups or as individuals. There is a component of supporting staff; either by one-to-one sessions or in groupwork, the focus is around resolving issues within teams, reflective practice and mediation.
You will be joining a committed, forward-thinking team from a variety of religious backgrounds and will be offered regular supervision, support, and development opportunities.
Closing date for applications is Friday 30 June.
Shortlisted candidates will be informed by Wednesday 5 July and interviews will be held on Wednesday 12 July.
