Our Vision

A people with hearts on fire, loving God, walking with Jesus and led by the Spirit

Associate Vicar, Battersea Fields

Associate Vicar
with responsibility for Parish Development
Battersea Fields and Nine Elms on the South Bank London

Battersea Fields is a large and vibrant riverside parish close to central London where over the next five years we will be growing the local church through pioneer ministry, church planting and parish development.

At this exciting time of change we are looking for an Associate Vicar with an evangelical background who can help strengthen and grow our existing churches of different traditions. The right person will be able to:

  • build trust with people of different traditions

  • develop teaching, pastoral care and volunteering across the parish

  • invest in the growth of new leaders and vocations from within diverse communities

  • lead creatively and with experience of growing ministry among Emerging Generations or Youth and Children

  • lead in mission, establishing one new congregation in the next five years

  • oversee areas of day to day administration in the parish.

This role will suit someone who will enjoy living in a diverse part of central London with a heart for bringing different communities together, and who wants to learn first-hand how to lead in the mixed economy church of the future.

The role is initially a 3 year role at incumbent status, as a fixed term interim post, with the possibility of extension for a further period.  A four bedroom house is provided.

For an informal conversation please feel free to contact the Revd Leighton Carr Leighton.Carr@southwark.anglican.org
